FIAT COMMERCIAL VEHICLES SET A NEW SALES RECORD IN 2004

Fiat commercial vehicles enjoyed record sales in 2004 with a 32,000 vehicle increase over 2003 to give Fiat total sales of 307,000 commercial vehicles.
Fiat Ducato sales rose by 4.6 per cent world wide, to achieve 102,000 sales, and the Ducato continued to increase its hold on the motorhome market in Europe with 70 per cent all motor homes and recreational vehicles delivered in Europe based on the Fiat Ducato.
Fiat took 10.8 per cent of the European market, with its home market leading the charger with a 40.2 per cent share, followed by 26 per cent of the Polish market, 11.2 per cent of the German and Hungarian markets, 10.9 per cent of the Swiss market accompanied by strong sales in Greece (10.6 per cent), Belgium (9.4 per cent), Austria (8.8 per cent) and Spain (7.7 per cent).
Fiat CV sales outside Europe rose by 36.6 per cent, with Fiat taking significant shares in countries as diverse as Brazil, with 24 per cent of the market, and Turkey where Fiat recorded a 15 per cent market share.
